Therapist for Men in Richmond, VA

Real Tools for Men who Want Change

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia, and I work with men who feel anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed by the constant pressure to keep it together. I help guys rebuild confidence, find balance, and start enjoying life again.

I’ve worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting people through anxiety, depression, addiction, and major life transitions. Over the years, I’ve helped a wide range of clients, including young professionals, new dads, first responders, and medical workers managing high-pressure jobs.

My goal is simple: to help men understand what’s driving their stress and give them tools that work in real life, not just in a therapist’s office.

My Approach to Therapy

I use a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. These approaches help you get out of your head, manage stress more effectively, and take meaningful action toward the life you actually want.

While those methods guide my work, the real foundation of therapy is connection. The best results come from honest, down-to-earth conversations combined with real tools grounded in what’s been proven to bring about change.

I became a therapist because I’ve seen how powerful it can be when men finally have space to talk openly and stop carrying everything alone. You don’t have to figure this out by yourself anymore.

Who I Work Best With

I work especially well with:

  • Older high school students and college-aged men who are anxious, stressed, or unsure of themselves as they navigate everything being thrown at them.
  • Guys in their 20s and 30s trying to balance work, relationships, and the pressure to have it all figured out.
  • Men in high-stress jobs like executives, attorneys, medical professionals, first responders, financial folks, and small-business owners who feel like their head is barely above water.
  • Athletes and former athletes who think more clearly and communicate better when they’re moving.
  • Men going through major life transitions, such as new careers, becoming a parent, breakups, moves, or just feeling lost and not like themselves anymore.

I also connect well with guys who appreciate straightforward conversations, practical tools, and a therapist who won’t sugarcoat things. If you want real change and you’re willing to do the work, we’ll work well together.

The Clinical Part

I earned both my bachelor’s in Psychology and my master’s in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. I’m licensed to practice in Virginia and stay up to date on evidence-based tools that help men manage anxiety, stress, and burnout effectively.

If you’ve been looking for therapy that feels practical, genuine, and built for men, this is a good place to start.

The Rest of Life

When I’m not meeting with clients, you can usually find me at the gym, on a soccer field, or planning my next travel adventure. I try to live what I teach by staying active, connected, and grounded in what matters most.
